Aflatoun – Social and Financial Savings Program

Child Savings International a foundation established in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Aflatoun was founded in 2005 to improve the situation of children in economically developing countries.

        To inspire children to socially and economically empower
        themselves to become agents of change in their own lives
        and for more equitable world.

  • Aflatoun’s Long Term Goal

    To achieve integration of child social and financial education into the education curriculum in the country or geographical area of the associate partner.

The Aflatoun methodology aims to empower children through a balanced approach to child social and financial education. The Aflatoun program is being implemented in schools of 31 countries. Teachers are provided trainings on the concept. A training manual was developed. They also developed 8 books for children up to 14 years of age. Sahil is the leading organization for curriculum development task force for South Asia Region.


After being introduced to the Aflatoun program in 2007, Sahil started developing a series of interactive CD games. Sahil prepared 15 episodes of this game on different aspects of social and financial savings including 5 songs for children up to 18 years of age.
