Trauma Counseling Of Earth -Quake Affected Survivors

After the October 2005 earthquake, Sahil actively participated in the recovery and rehabilitation programme.  

The psychologists at JHC visited hospitals, and provided psycho-social support, Counseling and alternate healing specifically to the children and adults in general in a majority of hospitals and camps of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The psychologists at JHC trained volunteers from universities, organizations and professionals on “trauma” to work with survivors effectively in hospitals as well as in disaster affected areas.

The psychologists at JHC were requested as resource persons to build the capacity of field workers of other organizations on trauma in Abbottabad. This training was organized by Save the Children (Sweden) and attended by various national and international organizations.

Training Of Care Givers On Trafficking

In collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO/IPEC) Regional  Programme on Combating Child Trafficking for Labour and Sexual Exploitation (TICSA II) Sahil, organized a skill-building workshop for the operational staff of counter trafficking. The JHC team participated in the workshop and has shown its commitment to the use of a multidisciplinary approach for the recovery of trafficking victims.  

The aim of the training was to enhance the workers' capacity and sensitize them about rehabilitation and reintegration so that the rights of children can be defended and realized. The chosen target group comprised of those who deal and interact with the children at Children Welfare and Protection Bureau (CWPB) Lahore.

Life Skills

Life skill training programme is to build the capacity of people to learn the skills for effective functioning. Life skills constitute a continuum of knowledge and aptitudes that are necessary for a person to function independently. JHC has been conducting life skills trainings to enhance the organizational capacities of various organizations and institutions.
