The abused child will have psychological and behavioral problems. These  are often inter linked and have both immediate and long-term effects.

The abused child may experience anger, guilt, shame, hostility, fear and low self-esteem. The child may suffer from nightmares, aggression and eating disorders. The child could exhibit all of these feelings or behaviors in varying degrees.
