It gives a general awareness to people regarding the measures which should be taken after an incident and how an FIR should get registered.

Following are the main contents which should be considered while registering an FIR:

Ø    The incident must be reported immediately.

Ø    The name of the complainant along with the place and time must be mentioned.

Ø    Complete detailed incident must be stated.

Ø    All details of eye witnesses must be mentioned.

Ø    The detailed particulars of accused if known must be stated.

Ø    All related pieces of evidence must be given to the police.

Ø    FIR must be signed by the complainant after reading it thoroughly.

Ø    If there is any difficulty in registration of FIR please contact DSP, SP, and SSP of
 the local jurisdiction and get a diary number.
