Listen to Sahil's New Radio Documentary on
"Counseling for Child Sexual Abuse"
Radio is one of the major sources
of information for the masses, at all levels and in all settings
whether rural, semi urban or urban.
Sahil under its “Mass Media Awareness
Program” planned to tap this information source for spreading out its
message against child sexual abuse. A Series of seven interactive programs was
developed and aired on radio channel FM-100.
Sahil also broadcasted the promotional spots
to promote its website; story book ‘Meri Hifazat’ and psychological counseling
facility ‘Jeet Healing Centre’ at radio channels FM-100, FM- 101 and Power–99.
The promotional campaign was aired in the months of February and June 2003.
Special spots were broadcasted on FM-100
from its three main stations Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, FM-101 from its
eight stations at Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Faisalabad, Quetta, Multan,
Hyderabad and Peshawar, Power-99 which covers Islamabad and its connected areas
to raise awareness on preventive measures of CSA to celebrate ‘International
Children Day of Broadcasting” which is internationally celebrated on every
second Sunday of December.
Another series of seven
children programmes were planned for the year.

Sahil’s
promotional spots of 11,12,17 seconds were broadcasted from 11th-31st
May, 2005 on City FM 89 in Islamabad, Faisalabad, Lahore and Karachi.

Sahil’s JHC promotional
ads of 15 seconds were broadcasted from 3rd - 9th
November 2005. Six spots per day on FM 99 Radio station in
Rawalpindi/Islamabad.
Sahil under its
“Awareness Raising
Campaign on Child
Protection and
CSA” recently
planned to produce
a radio
documentary on
“Counseling for
Child Sexual
Abuse”. With
Sahil’s Program
Manager’s
expertise of Radio
Journalism, a
concept was
developed with the
psychologists of Jeet Healing
Centre for
producing an in
house radio
documentary.
It may be noted here
that the concept,
script, recording,
editing, mixing,
presentation and music
was complied by this
creative team. The
documentary focuses on
the psychological
damages caused to
child
victims and survivors
of CSA and the
importance of
Counseling for dealing
with the trauma.
The
documentary is of
6-minutes duration and
has been disseminated
to different radio
stations in the
country for
broadcasting.
It has
been broadcasted from
Power 99 Radio
Station, Islamabad and
Rawalpindi on Jan 22,
2007.
As a part of Public
Service Broadcasting,
following radio
stations have agreed
to broadcast the
awareness raising
documentary without
any airtime costs.
