T
he major break through of Sahil’s TV campaign is a seventy minutes long play titled “Meray Khawab Rayza Rayza” written by renowned writer and poet Amjad Islam Amjad and directed by Mr. Firdous Jamal. The play exposes the harsh reality of sexual abuse of a 14 year old girl child. The play depicts true societal behaviour plus the stigma attached to the victim in such incidents in a very careful way and leaves the end open for the viewers to provide them food for thought on the point “what is the fault of the child and what is its future?”

As a second step, Sahil prepared cartoon animations for children, of 45 seconds and 20 seconds duration, based on the units of the story book “Meri Hifazat” conveying the message on body safety and an effective parent-child relationship. These animations were adjusted within the play at break times and viewed on “International Day against Child Abuse” on November 19, 2003 on Indus Vision.

As a result of its massive awareness raising campaign on media, Sahil was represented in the following talk shows as a panelist/guest speaker:

  • "Child Abuse" a show focused on various forms of abuse prevalent in the society, organized by Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights. The programme has been telecasted on PTV, PTV World and Channel 3.
     

  • “Youth Assembly” a PTV talk show, focused on the role of NGOs and civil society in the country.
     

  •  “Haq to Yeh Haq Ada Na Hua”, a show focused on the issue of the girl child in Pakistan organized by Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights.
     

  • "Sach to Yeh Hai" is a programme focussed on the state of child labour and the issue of Child Sexual Abuse organized by PTV World.  
     

  • To raise awareness on the issue of CSA, Sahil's teleplay" Meray Khowab Raiza Raiza" was shown on millennium cable network in Islamabad, on January 23rd,2005 from 6:00-7:00 pm.
     

  • Sahil launched an animation campaign on Indus T.V from January- May 2005 on child body protection. Cartoon animations of 27-30 seconds duration were displayed between
    7:00-8:00 pm.
     

  • Sahil launched animation campaign on child body protection in 45 cinemas of 32 cities across the country for the third consecutive year in November 2005. Four animations of 17 seconds, 27 seconds, 30 seconds and 40 seconds were shown. In total 2,835 exposures were given in the campaign time period.
     

  • A Cartoon animations campaign was also carried out in Melody Food-Park in Islamabad in April -May 2005 at a frequency of 10 spots a day for one month.
     

  • Sahil animations were shown at "Grand Yakjehti Festival" at Lok Virsa in Islamabad. The festival was organized in April, 2005.
     
  • Animations were shown on two separate multimedia screens in the premises of the festival. 20 exposures per day were given on each screen, conveying Sahil's message “No one has to be a victim of CSA” to thousands of people attending the events for 17 days.
     
  • Executive Director of Sahil was a panelist at “Aaj TV” talk show in "Huma’s Show" to discuss the issues of CSA in Pakistan.
     
  • Sahil animations were broadcasted on QTV on 5th and 6th of July.
     
  • Sahil Psychologist is hosting weekly live program in Pashto on mental health on AVT Khyber channel from February 2007 till date.
