Partnership Unit Swat
Sahil 5 Referral Units, Rawalpindi/ Islamabad, Abbottabad, Sukkur, Jaffarabad, Lahore and one
Partnership Unit Swat
have been delivering services in their respective
districts.
Four Referral Units of
Abbottabad,
Sukkur, Jaffarabad and Lahore have been staffed with a
Unit Coordinator, Officer Counseling, a part time Legal
consultant and office support staff.
Rawalpindi/ Islamabad Referral Unit is an addendum to the Head Office and
is supporting the Adiala Jail Intervention. It has a full time Legal
Advisor/ Program Officer Networking and Program Officer Counseling on its staff.
PROVISION OF LEGAL AID AT REFERRAL UNITS
During
2008, a total of 98 child sexual abuse cases were dealt by Sahil. Free legal services
were provided at the five Referral Units.

PROVISION OF LEGAL AID TO JUVENILES
During 2008, a total of 17 juveniles cases were dealt by Sahil Referral
Units.

REFERRAL UNITS AND MEDIA MONITORING
Referral/Partnership
Unit teams monitor 48 regional daily newspapers.
Head Office Islamabad monitors 15 English and Urdu daily
newspapers.
Volunteers are also contributing to the monitoring of 6 newspapers.
FIR
POSTER DISPLAYS AT DISTRICTS
A total of 137 FIR posters
have been put up in the police stations, bar councils and local
organizations in Referral Unit tehsils in 2008.
Meetings with lawyers, judges, police officials are an on going activity
for increasing the display of the posters for imparting the message of
legal aid to the victim and survivor families.
