CHINH Pakistan

BACKGROUND

CHINH PAKISTAN has been established on the pattern of CHINH INDIA, which was initiated by Meenakshi Vinay Rai in Delhi. A children’s jury judges films and gives awards.

The symbol of Chinh Pakistan is a pictographic script of Indus civilization. Sahil participated in CHINH INDIA film festival in 2009, Sahil was requested to nominate a student from Pakistan who was selected as a member of the international children jury for CHINH INDIA.


CHINH PAKISTAN MOVES FORWARD


Sahil invited school children to participate as jury members under CHINH PAKISTAN. Sahil has shown
15 short animations/movies to 400 school children, including Sahil animations on body protection, and received their responses through rating sheets to select the best film.
                              

The CHINH PAKISTAN TEAM members who conduct the proceedings consisted of children from 3 different schools. The members were between 14- 16 years of age.
 

TOTAL MOVIE SESSIONS

Sahil conducted CHINH PAKISTAN’s movie sessions for viewing of films for the students of Head Start School, elementary branch in F- 6 Islamabad. The team conducted one session each for 14 sections of class two, three, four and five.

PROCEDURE

These sessions took place in the auditorium of the school. Each session began with the introduction of CHINH PAKISTAN’S team, CHINH concept and the procedure for viewing the films to the students. Children from each class were shown 3 animations/ short films. Each student was provided with a rating sheet immediately after the animation/ movie ended. Their views were recorded on video camera.

       

                                

CHINH PAKISTAN OWN CREATIVE PRODUCTIONS

CHINH PAKISTAN team also created productions on their own. The seven team members were divided into two teams. Each team developed a short animated film one on poverty, and the other on bullying. This was done under the guidance of a free technical support provided by White Rice Communications and Sahil.

The students were from Beacon House, Head Start and Lahore Grammar School. These films were shown in CHINH-India festival in November, 2010. The winning movie was 'The Race Against Poverty' and the runner up movie was Witnessing Bullying’.
